These Rare 1880 Gorham Sterling Silver Copper Hand Hammered Salt Pepper Shakers are absolutely exquisite!
This is an antique pair of sterling silver salt and pepper shakers made by Gorham in 1880. This 19th century set has a fine, hand hammered finish and applied copper decorations. The shakers have a Chinoiserie theme, one shaker with a man smoking a pipe in a traditional Chinese hat with a tree on the reverse, the other with a woman holding a parasol, with a swallow and prunus branch on the reverse.
The underside of each shaker is marked for Gorham, sterling silver purity, production number A92 and has a date letter M for the year 1880.
This set is in excellent condition for its age. There are no splits, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
Height: 3 1/8 inches.
Weight: 102 grams.
